No submission fees. You fund your production costs. Rhino pays for rent, insurance, promotion, tech support. You produce on a festival lighting grid. Best are shows 60 minutes or less.

RHINOFEST 2024 submissions are now closed. If you have never submitted to the Rhino before, know that it’s quite easy. We don’t charge you a fee to submit! We never have, by the way. All you have to do is have an idea of what you want to make, some technical specifications, cast size, lighting needs, stuff like that. We need to know what the work is probably going to be like and particularly how long it might be, in order to curate the festival with any efficiency and rationale. We are always interested in original plays, but we love solo performance, conceptual things, musical events, puppets, weird lectures, possibly site-responsive work, art work for the lobbies, almost anything you might want to make. We want to stress that the Rhinoceros Theater Festival is a place for original work, a safe landing for things you have never done before. We love weird, but we also love straight ahead. The Rhinofest contains multitudes. We will notify you by the end of March. You have taken a chance! YOU ARE DOING IT RIGHT. Making stuff is one antidote to the horror of these times. We will be changing this world, one imagination at a time. ONWARD!
